It's almost impossible to find a teg!!!!!!

This has got to be the most frustrating part of getting a car. I've searched and searched, but finding a teg worth a shit is almost impossible. Either finding one with low miles and a decent body, there is always rust, and the person selling it, says nothing is wrong until the famous saying "Well.....the only thing wrong with it is??????" there is always a ton of shit. Just be honest and let a guy know right off hand. As it is I got to travel a long ways just to get one. then finding one with high miles and a salvaged title. What the hell happend hear. I've never ran into this, It isn't hard I want a silver 99-00 teg 5spd, without a boat load of miles in really good condition. I really don't want any other car. I love my civic, but I want the power options with more horsepower. do I have to look at eclipses or what hereI've even thought about getting one with no engine and buying one because there is nothing in my area? Sorry guys just venting. But getting really tired of it.

Why so serious?
the teg is a fairly old car, its gonna be hard to find one exactly how you want it. Your gonna find alot of salvage title tegs too, mostly becuase people like to steal them and destroy them. Its not impossible to find one with low miles without to much stuff wrong. Back when i used to have my teg, i got it with 50k miles, silver, in good running condition. Just gotta be patient man.

Yeah, it sucks when people aren't truthful about the condition of the car they're selling. It's not like you won't find out when you get there. Although sometimes it's a little too late if they mask the problem and you buy it. Anyhoot...

Good luck searching! Paint color would be one of the last things I'd worry about. You can always get a car with a nice body, runs well, low miles, and then get a paint job. Try prioritizing. It'll expand your shopping field. :D

Puggy made a good point. My car has a salvaged title due to theft, not accident. Salvage titles aren't as bad as people always make it out to be. Especially when it comes to Integras. You just gotta make sure you do your research, Carfax it, see paperwork from insurance/repair, and visually check the car for areas that look sketchy. Salvage from accident < I don't touch those. It's usually a hassle. Theft is different.

The stolen parts have usually been replaced when you buy the car anyway. If you plan on keeping the car for a long time, I wouldn't worry TOO much about it being salvaged from theft. That's just me, though. The teg's sticking around until it dies. Even then, I'll probably just replace stuff that goes out. The title itself doesn't bother me. A salvaged title is also good grounds to negotiate the price on when you're buying the car...lol :thumbs up

Good luck!

I've even decided that I would go with a variety of colors. But getting one even close to me(living in SD) I have to drive around 4 hours to even look. So I tell people send as many pics as you can, because I'm not going to waste my time or gas money to get it. I just don't understand what is so hard about that.

People are assholes, that's why...lol

Don't worry, you'll find one. Just don't get antsy and jump into one that's not the best for your money. I went three months without a car before buying my teg. A few weeks later, I saw a BUNCH of tegs that would have been well worth the money, but it was too late. So yeah. Patience will pay off in the end.

Then again, I live in Cali and imports aren't hard to find.

Yea, dont lose hope, I was looking for 5 months for a civic or an integra after i wrecked my old civ. One day one came on craigslist and it is perfect. You''ll find one. And dont rush into something because the longer you wait and look, the better of a car you'll get

still on the lookout, might have found a 5spd silver for 4500 but I'm not sure about the miles though. But if the condition of the car is great I'll buy a new motor while I'm at it for loan purpose. And toss it in when I need it. I'll keep you posted.

New and fresh.
I found mine by mistake. I was originally looking for a 99-00 Honda Civic EX coupe, and landed on this... I still love it.
