i have seen stovk itrs put down more than 165 usually in the 170sJust keep in mind that 50hp is a few easy mods away where as 50hp in a Type R is a few grand away. Type R also has a slightly over rated HP claim
A 170hp GSR puts down 150
A 195hp ITR puts down around 160-165
A 210hp GST puts down around 180-185
There also free mods that can be done to the push that to 200whp
The DSM's are also rated at 84 more ft/lbs of torque than an ITR
the motor he has crank for sure.where using the 2.4 stroker because the torque.the hp goal easyly done only going for 350awhpYes. Mine is semi-stock 7bolt 2.0L 4G63. The only mods down low are swain coated ACL bearing, and ARP bolts and head studs.
The 4G64 2.4L block is strong as well. Plus it has the same manifold bolt patterns as the 4G63 so finding those things is easy. If he is just going to a 4G64 for fear of crankwalk again you could always swap in a 90-92.5 6bolt 4G63. Or try and find a '99 model year 7bolt 4G63. You would need to run the VIN's to verify it came from a '99 but they never had crankwalk.
