Don't you still have to subtract 10-20% from the BHP rating to get the WHP?
Not neccasarily. Alot of manufacturers use the rating slightly different. Some overrate their cars, some underrate. Honda typically overrates the HP claims more than other manufacturers.

And yes, drivetrain losses are greater in automatics compared to standards

Why so serious?
I used to have a 91 CB7 (Accord coupe) Auto. It was hella slow and couldn't corner for dear life. I only miss not having to shift when I'm stuck in traffic.
and instead of downshifting to speed up you just put the pedal to the metal lol

good times

thats the only time i hate it. especially on this road that i take to go to work, its on a steep ass hill that i have to go over with lights every 20 or so ft. it sucks, sometimes i get scared im gonna make someone rear end me. that would suck. i wonder whos fault it would be.

True. but for Hondas, you definitely need to subtract 10-20% to get the effective HP rating (WHP). They normally only use the power rating from the flywheel.

They all rate them at the flywheel stock. Some just underrate their cars. Some are obviously overrated. Sometimes just for the sake of making a car look better or worse. An ITR is rated to have 25hp more than a GSR but yet only puts down like 12 or 13 more at the wheels.

They will overrate the ITR to split the difference between it and the GSR to make spending the extra mney more justified

Mazda generally overrates pretty good too
