what are the advantages of twinscroll turbo? i have no idea what it is i looked on google but no explanation there. is it same as Variable Vane Turbine (VVT)?

A twin scroll turbine housing uses dual side by side passages into the housing instead of a single inlet. When coupled with a manifold that separates exhaust pulses as many crank degrees in the firing order as possible, a twin scroll or divided housing works to reduce lag, decrease exhaust manifold backpressure on the top end, reduce the potential for reversion, and increase fuel economy. The twin scroll is based off the same reasoning a tri-Y header uses by keeping spent exhaust gases out of an adjacent cylinder drawing in fresh air.

That setup is completely worthless without a pulse tuned manifold to take advantage of the split turbine housing. It's also more of a pain then it's worth IMO

i cant reweld the honda flange on a mitsu manifold? if they re same diameter and all?

I would just stay away from the twin scroll. The runner length on the twin scroll manifold and 16g are pulse tuned to match the 4G63's setup. A regular EVO3 16g will perform plenty good

I know Full Race and Peak Boost both make one but they are well over $1k

damn wtf?!?! with the $1k i have saved right now i plan on purchasing at least a manifold/downpipe combo, an intercooler and piping!!!! at least!

Typically that depends upon YOUR FOOT. Anytime that the engine is in load, and it is tuned rather on the "rich" side, then yes, fuel economy will suffer. But if you "cruise" the highway, without going into positive pressure as much (that's based upon your driving habits) then no, you can have pretty good fuel economy. No way to know this until you've completed the setup.

And remember, T3/T4 hybrids come in MANY sizes, flavors and colors.. The number T3 and T4 determine general size for cartridge and turbine housings.

yeah i get the concept but idk what that was in response to or what prompted that post

EDIT: nevermind

so you mean that theres no way to calculate the when the turbo is gonna spool up? aproximately
does it depend alot on manifold type?

depends on manifold and and size of turbo the most.
tiny turbo spool fast big turbo spool slow what you have to do is reasearch diff size turbos but i would recomend a small t3/t4
