Modification bug is biting me badly

guys/gals, as much as i always said the integra gsr was only gonna be a daily driver, this had to happened. I have now got bitten by the modification bug and now i am craving for a little more pull from my gsr.


first, the engine is bone stock. if i upgraded the cams to aftermarkets, would i get an impressive power gain? if i do get cams, what else do i need to compliment this part for power? ie aftermaret IM, aftermarket injectors, aftermarket or chipped ecu, etc.


my first basic mod is bolt ons I/H/E and that will come first on the setup.



i'd like to keep this car reliable for the street since its my daily driver,but i would like a little more power when i need it. simple stock vtec power isnt floating my boat anymore so to speak. lol



any help,tips,advice,guidance would greatly be appreciated. thanks!

Just like you said, the basic I/H/E will be a good start. For extra power, I sugggest upgrading:

1) Cams
2) Cam sprockets
3) ECU

You should be fine with your stock injectors.

Just remember cam gears are only make a difference if you tune them.

The most important thing you'll need are high compression pistons. You'll most likely also need larger injectors, and you will need a tuning system of some sort. And you'll need to upgrade your valvesprings. Exactly what you need of all these parts depends on how big you go with the cams.

I say save up put together a nice turbo kit...tune it and call it a day....it can remain streetable and make you happier than any basic bolt ons would....and if you think about it your basic I/H/E is gonna run you about 500 or so shorter than it would to piece together a decent kit.

^^ Agree. I'm putting a kit together right now for under 700 on my civic.

My goal is a grand including tuning, and I use this baby to commute 100 miles a day.

we have what's called "studs" embedded into our tires for the winter, they are sort of like metal screws porttruding out of the tire that keeps traction on the ice. without this, were screwed no pun inteded lol.



driving a teggy in Alaska is no problem, just have to watch out for drunk eskimos and polar bears roaming the tundra. other than that, piece of cake

correct, and we dont live in igloos, and the winters are not that bad as contrary to what people down in the states think.


but to really speak the truth,i'd rather be living down there than up here. entertainment wise, it sucks like ass up here and shipping is so damn expensive since were so damn far away from you guys. i miss circuit city alot though, :cry:

hmm, if lets say i go for skunk 2,or blox,crower,crane etc cams intake and exhaust sides, what do i need to do to the stock ecu? aftermarket piggy,chipped,standalone etc etc. pardon me for my noobness.

if i do go the cams route, is cam sprockets really necessary? or can i just leave my stock cam sprockets alone? thanks for the tips. greatly appreciated.
