Boosting

That's pretty much like saying an ls/gs doesn't have potential. Why start off with a car without vtec then. Actually, why even bother building a b-series motor than. Your better off just buying a RSX with a k series. Why not just start out with a boosted vehcial from the start-like an evo. Its pretty much an endless argument. Anyone can build a 5-speed teg cuase it's been done. Theres not as much research involved. There's little to no support for automatics-from both other teg owners and a lot of parts companies. Building an automatic takes a lot more patiance and commitment. Plus you gotta be willing to catch shit from just about everyone.

automatics are slower, they cant hold as much power, and are less reliable at even moderate hp levels (250whp and up)

They're not so much slower, but you don't have the control and launch capability that you would in a 5sp. I'm talking stock for stock, and no they can't hold as much power and they are less reliable at moderate hp levels, but there's hardly a handful of people that even have over 180whp on this site, so for him with the power levels in mind he'll be fine.

i concur w/ mteg, i <3 my automatic and i really dont have anything against any of this, yanno its what YOU want to do and how you wanna do it. if there's a will there's a way just takes more TLC for an automatic then ya need for a 5speed because of the lack of support in autos. all in all mteg has shown me and inspired my auto.

I havn't had any problems with mine yet. I even have a spare tranny I got for $250 sitting in the corner of my garage-just in case. 250whp is going to be rare-and probably not on a daily driver.

Spend a couple hundred on a hondata or chrome, or easiest imo, go to a reputable honda tuner in the area (you might have to drive out of the area) and install what ever thery're good at tuning, most shops usually have a program they like the best.

be prepared to dop at least 600 for hondata tuning. the unit itself will be at least 200, plus the tune. crome pro is free, but you still need to pay for ecu chipping, so like 500 there. tuning is expensive, but the single most important part of boosting

well for the greddy kit it comes with the ecu part doesnt it so you just tune that right? also would it be safe to drive for a while with greddys pre tuned thing

The greddy kit already comes with a basemap on it so if you leave it at there original settings it will be fine and you shouldn't need a tune.

i say tune it anyway, best guess maps are just that...a guess. every motor is different. if you got the money, get on a dyno and tune it properly
