Pretty much anyone can drag race a slow car where wheel spin is not really an issue in anything but the launch. There is still technique to it but a crappy driver still won't be that much slower. It gets exponentially harder as the car gets faster and the launch, throttle modulation and shifting have to be more accurate to avoid just killing the tires and making a really slow time
yeah the statement that anyone can drag was the dumbest thing ive read on any forum in a long long time. IF that were so then it wouldnt be a competitive sport. Sure the gap between winning and loosing might be alot smaller but thats just what makes it so hard. I spend almost every friday night at the drag strip racing some nights and watching other nights. There is soo much to learn and alot to screw up. If you make one mistake you most likely loose the race theres no where to make up lost time like the next corner or the next straight. You just loose.
I also have done tons of set up work on my car to make it hook up going straight alot like a auto crosser would do to his car to make it corner.
Ohh I cant watch it on tv it bores the shit outta me. In real life I only like to see imports drag race the domestic cars are fast but there all the same. Corners would be fun but for now the drag strip is all there is. Honda guys gotta stick together, were being overrun by 240's and srt4's. Its not "COOL" to be into hondas anymore. I love it
