How to remove rust from header

Don't know where to for sure post this, search but didn't find anything about this issue.
So the question is how to get rid of the rust on the DC header without having to deal with it every few months.
I heard that if you remove the ceramic coating it gets worst.

I would just get rid of it, and replace it with a stainless. Thats just me, every part of my exhaust is going to be stainless.

Best thing is to remove all the rust and paint it with a high temp paint. There's really no need to get rid of it. They also make some that will do the same thing while also acting as a heat sheild, so you would have the same effect as heat wrapping your header.

Most high-temp paints claim to be able to handle the intense heat of a header. And most of the time they are full of shit. I would rather either get a stainless header or just powdercoat or thermal wrap your current one. There is also places out there that do thermal coatings......but you would have to clean the hell out of the header first and it usually isn't the cheapest or easiest compared to some of the other alternatives

Thats because most people who buy their so called high temp paint get shit like dupli-color and rustoleum.
You need to buy a good brand of paint, industrial strength that usualy will run around 50bucks a gallon. There are companys like Hy-tech and POR-15 that make excellent quality paints that will withstand practically anything.

Oh, I know. That's why I said "most" high-temp paints. I was just letting him know that most ordinary high temp spray paints that claim to be able to handle that kind of heat usually still burn. And for $50 bucks for a gallon of paint, I would just get it powdercoated. It would cost about the same

True, but you can usually get a pint for around 20 bucks and thats plenty for a header.
