I've seen them on trunks before for people who re-locate their battery if it's what I think you're talking about.

It's just a kill switch.

yeah you have to have a kill switch visible from the rear of the car if you have your battery relocated to the rear. At least thats Scca rules and track rules.

dry walling can start you off around $26.50 if you can get hooked up. i know someone that just made full rate as well so he's making more than that now.
