94 teg ls or celica gts

94 integra LS with 90k miles is only $6000, or a 2000 celica gts with 100k is $10800(all my money).both cars are in decent shape. would 4 or 5 grand in mods(mods that would would not jeperdize relibility, or emissions test) make the teg a better car for canyon runs, with some auto x and stoplight drag. yes the gts is faster, but i care more about the overall feel/driver involvement like that of a 911. mainly what i'm concerned about is the reliability of the gts over 100K (i plan on keeping the car for at least a few years after college at least. i don't have cash for costly repairs since i'm in college. also, are gts's easy to work on like tegs, and is there a theft problem with just a clean ls integra with wheels but no exaust...will have full coverage under parents, but still...and before someone asks, yes they are both stick. i know this is a teg site but please try to keep your answers objective, thanks!

p.s. how much for a gs-r or type r swap by itself, as well as one that is installed?

now that i think about it, after i get i painted and the tint done(unless there is a way to do a super cheap DIY tint job that is good quality, it will be up to about 7 grand

lol, did you compare a teg to a 911?..... I don't think you're going to get that out of an integra or a celica... lol

I don't know enough about toyota's to comment, but if you're going to be canyon racing a car that you want to keep reliable... I dunno, something about driving really fast around lots and lots of turns close to deap edges doesn't sound like a good idea to me... Just my thought.

Celica is a good handler, but to me is a girls car, teg in the other hand the LS with nice coilovers and some positive pressure would be beyond fun, I say LS

both cars are pretty expensive considering the mileage. 10G's for a celica at 100K is not worth it at my opinion. the teg could be bargained down to 5G's. IMO you could find better. i believe that there are a couple of GSR's for sale on this site that you could look into.

the integra is 4750 including ttl. after paint, tint, brakes, and cv axle it will be even closer to 7k now that i think about it. gts is 1080 including ttl

Teg dude, you'll have emissions problems once you start modding the Cellca, there's more things you can do with the teg, and will be alot cheaper

Go with the LS or get a GSR if you got 7-8k to spend you should have no problem finding a GSR and if this is your first car, whatever you do don't rush just because you want something to drive. Make sure you get a good deal and get the car you want. But celicas are chick cars, there played out and there not that much faster. The acura is just as much if not more reliable than the toyota and you'll have alot more fun in it. Also don't look at the miles when determening weather or not to buy a car, thats part of it but how it was maintained is a whole lot more important. You can take one of my cars with 200k plus and I gaurantee it is a million times more reliable and runs better than most cars with 50k on them(also probablly in better shape) Prime example is Ominous's car. Service records are the key, if they don't have them, then they probablly didn't get any of it done. Also look at recent timing belt and water pump replacement because most 100k mile cars are due for both of them. Also buying a car with low owners and something an older individual own are better too. This isn't always the case, but for the most part if you buy a car from someone that you can tell has a fair amount of money then they had the money to keep the car serviced right, that and there usually not desperate for cash so there not trying to rip people off on the price. (granted its hard to find one of those owners driving a teg, some do) And please don't get an Auto:lol:
