For me at least, they helped out a little bit with heat.


The snakeskin set I bought are supposed to be their thickest, so my leg resting on thick rubber is better than resting on the hot frame :lol:

And the way the XB is designed, with the indents for your legs, it gives you something to grip onto while tucking rather than airbox plastic and gas tank metal... That I keep waxed :rolf:

The F4 kinda keeps you on it pretty well, and nothing gets hot around your legs.

Could still come in handy for hard acceleration.

I think boiling fuel is only a problem in the desert anyway. :lol:

I took the F4 off the charger yesterday and it started on it's own tonight so I guess the battery is okay. :rolf:

It couldn't be that big of a problem. It gets super fucking hot before the fan even kicks on :lol:




If the battery is fine, that must mean your stator is fucked :lol: Unless you cranked it over and over trying to get it started and killed the battery?

God damn... the bike is in meltdown mode by 455 degrees... I bake pizza's on less heat than that :rolf:

I hadn't run the bike in about a month, and I hadn't charged it in awhile. I guess it just needed to be fully charged back up.

Stator could still be fucked, but I currently have no reason to believe so :lol:

The Pegasus RSS usually keeps it cool enough to where the fan doesn't even turn on with the key off. But I've only had it turn on once in bumper to bumper traffic on the beach..... It was hell.


Any other time it turns on, I'm doing 80+ on the interstate. Can only feel it coming out of the small holes on the tail where the seat lock is :lol:

Remember it's got that 6 row oil cooler over on the left under the scoop, which they swapped for a bigger 8 row on the 08+ bikes.



And it runs at real low RPMs in city traffic. At 80mph on the interstate, it's around 4200RPM.... But it's getting a constant airflow to keep it cool.
