In other news, Erik Buell Racing was bought by someone that seems like they actually know how to run a business :lol:

Now let's hope that future EBR's don't cost as much as a Ducati and they come out with something along the lines of the old XB line.

Ducs don't really cost all that much these days, just the 1299 panigale & the multistrada really.

It's because they aren't made in thailand like the rest of the bikes. :rolf:

That's all on Erik Buell and his wet dream of racing. Granted, he's had cool ideas for his bikes, the original Buells anyway (fuel in frame, oil tank in swingarm, floating rotor, etc.).

Hopefully now that a rider owns the company, it'll go the way the riders want it.

I'd keep Buell as a designer, but keep him the fuck away from the business end of the company.

What they should really do is phase out the RX/SX since those Indian Hero bikes now look like EBR's, and bring out an actual successor to the XB with the 1190 EBR-Rotax engine. With a lower price point, of course.

Come on, don't act like you wouldn't buy a new version of this

I love the firebolt... but the damn thing is still way too tiny for me. :lol:

I don't mind racing design, I actually prefer it (take the new R1 for example, or the RC213V-S) but the RX looks like a cheap hyosung and the sx is like a generic chinese kawasaki naked bike.

I guess for me it's just the looks, I'm never gonna buy something that looks that f***ing boring. :rolf:

At least with the old buells you could see the v-twin, and they're just such bizarre bikes that they catch attention pretty well.

So yeah, get rid of the shitty generic looks of the RX/SX and I'd probably get one if I had the chance.

They have to go back to putting the muffler under it like a Ducati though, side exhaust just sounds and looks like shit, too much piping.

Now that you mention it, the RX does have a Hyosung look to it and the SX does kinda look like a bad Z1000 knock off :lol:

That's what made me like Buells in the first place. I remember first seeing an S1 when I was about 4-5 years old, I still think they look good :lol:

I still don't understand why the hell they got rid of that exhaust design. They used it as far back as the BattleTwins and WestWinds of the 80s.

I've heard an RC with an underbelly exhaust similar to the termignoni for the panigale and it sounded mean as hell, definitely a mod I want when I can afford to fab one up.

Piping just kills the tone, it's like that blue 70s ferd I had for like a year. I cut the 3-4ft of piping off and just bolted some race bullets on the the header collectors. It sounded more badass than the stang.

Or a better example would be RoadKill's ls6 muscle truck, they did the same thing. :lol:

I could probably talk them down a little more since it's been on CL so long and they're a little ways out from where I live.

Get rid of the chrome fenders, that chrome bar thing, change seat, some clip ons, and powdercoat the wheels+lower fork housings black. :thumbs up

Considering I still have the bars that came on the C70 in laying my closet...

I don't think super bike bars would look too bad on it.
