Dude new C7 pulls at thunderhill. Could be 4 cars behind me, I point it by and it blows past me and is able to pull a big enough gap to get back on the racing line. I'm not lifting either.
Been a while since there has been any major updates. Last month we went out to Adams Motorsports Park to play around on the little kart track. It was an interesting feeling for that track, especially without power steering. More on that later.
We hit up a bar to kill time before going to AMP. Snapped this pic before we left.
Here is a video of the day. You can see it is a really short track. Best time I put down was a 46.5. I am not sure how that fairs though, but it was apparently fast for that day.
There has been a lot of thought about installing power steering. The previous owner removed everything that had to do with PS, even the fittings on the rack. There was a lot of little, but pricey things to buy from Honda in order to get it running, but we did. Thanks to Christan and Ruben from Vtec Club for donating some stuff to the cause.
To my surprise it does not leak...yet. It feels really nice to have power steering. It almost makes it feel like a whole different car.
The car has struggled with oil temperature for a while now. To combat the 280+ degrees oil temps it was decided to pick up an oil cooler. After a lot of research we determined that a Setrab core would be the best to go with.
These wrenches are a must have for anybody who uses AN fittings. They allow you to install the fittings without marring them up and leaving a ton of scratches. I highly recommend getting a set.
Another major issue that has been plaguing me from the beginning is the catch can overflowing. The best course of action was obviously to weld AN fittings to the valve cover. The B-Series valve cover is already baffled and allows for a perfect place to vent the blowby gases. The RoadRace Engineering catch can I had been using was too small as well so a larger Moroso was picked up to replace it.
While performing my wheel alignment at West End a few months ago, Chris informed me that my passenger inner tie rod was going out. I ended up going with MOOG over OEM because of the price and reputation. After receiving the MOOG pieces I was really impressed with the quality. They are beefier than OEM and the hardware itself just feels better. Time will tell how it holds up.
A new seat was purchased as well. The Buddy Club Racing Spec seat was just too small for me. I am 6'4" and the harness holes were simply too low. The harness would compress my spine and every time I got out of the car I would be sore for a few days. Gabaracers informed me that he had a Cobra Suzuka Pro seat that I should try. I test fitted the seat and instantly knew I wanted to purchase it. The design is perfect for a larger driver. The taller shoulder strap holes make for a more comfortable seating position.
A G-Force Cam Lock 5 point was paired with the new Cobra seat. The Buddyclub seat and old 5 Point Harness were moved over to the passenger side.
