I thought the v-rods were cool, until I sat on one.

Most awkward riding position ever, Like a sport bike with forward controls...

No fucks given.
The V-Rods would have been cool if Harley didn't take all of Erik Buell's many years of R&D and shit all over it in typical Harley fashion... If that bike had been released as a Buell, it might have been a street version of the VR1000. Instead,we got the V-Rod.

Then I might have really wanted one, Making it a drag bike was just gay, Now it's a great engine in a chassis that's only meant to go in a straight line, The drag bike has rearsets too which is why the road version sucks, That frame is set up for forward positioning like a super sport, It should've just been a new version of the vr1000...

Yes, Check out pwjdm and stuff like that...

Because the ruck is "jdm" it's also apparently a top quality high performance machine that can only use the highest quality parts that will run you about $999,999.95

Haha got a quote today actually.

Liability - $220/year

Full Coverage - $2,885/year

Damn my speeding tickets and young male gender.

Is it really THAT expensive to build a ruck???
Depends if it's all about looks, speed or combining the two.

Go to The Ruck Shop's website and price some things out. Start with a new GY6 engine, harness, exhaust, and (not on the site) a weld on mount (cheapest option) will run around $90.

Then after the performance pricing, factor in all the things that would make the Ruck look good. Rewrapping the seat: 100-150ish, a DORF seat frame is around $300, BMX stem/bars of your choice, different taillight, clean up the headlight bracket, a gas tank cover, pick a set of wheels, which you'll need to add in the price of a rear hub for the fatty, lower forks/disc brake kit.

Still haven't factored in painting/powdering the frame.

This is also assuming you have the time/skills to do the work yourself. There's a ton of money in Blackie for a reason.

$18.xx a month?

Mine's $80 a month or $658 a month for full coverage.

Of course that's a for a 1000cc and a deathrate of like 1 out of every 8 people who ride in my area have hit something and died. :smackself:

$90 for the engine and everything?? Is that the 180cc? It cant be that expensive unless you go high quality and outrageous parts. I would think just getting a new engine and maybe reworking the cluster/electronics and plastics wouldn't be too expensive.

How much are tires?

What the actual hell. Thats more than my bike is worth in a year...

RC is only worth $4500 max.

Sadly the death rate is insane around here and it affects insurance rates...

$90 for mount, and you need to get it welded on. There's bolt on mounts, but those run a few hundred. The engine is around $350, haven't checked in a while. It's a 150cc, you could get a 180 BBK, but it doesn't last long and it's not a direct bolt on. There are premade 180s, but they run close to $1k.

You'd still need a GY6 rear wheel, about $40-50, and a wiring harness. You could either hack up a cheap Chinese harness and splice it into the OEM, or just replace it all with a quality aftermarket harness.

What cluster and plastics are you talking about? There's a single gauge, and the only plastic besides the floorboard is the battery box. You could replace the speedometer with a more accurate Trail Tech Vapor.

Contrary to what people may think, even though they're scooters, just like anything else they get expensive when you start modifying them...

Oh ok thats closer to what I thought.

I could see spending a grand on a $1500 scooter ending up pretty well yeah?

And I don't know much about the plastics or whatever, since ive only seen a stock ruck like twice. But I figured id modify the body somehow to look better. Maybe move stuff around.

Idk I'm just thinking out loud here haha.

Looks like a power chair

The digital fuel gauge is cool though, Unlike most bikes that don't tell you anything and then suddenly "Oops you're almost empty" :rolf:
