White wall knobbies.... Yes/no? I can find white wall street tires for the same price as portawalls, but they're only rated for 62mph (my knobbies are rated for like 80) and I'd lose tire width.

Knobbies are usually more enjoyable they just get chewed up faster.

Idk how many miles were on them when I bought it, but I've probably put a few thousand on the these tires since I bought the bike and they still look brand new.

I'm guessing the acetone/Nail polish remover vs cheap spray paint method.

Progress! I'm starting to like the blue better now that most of the black is gone.

That's exactly how it's coming off :lol: The paint looks much better in pics than in person. Being that it's nearly 34 years old, there's places where it's pitted and a little rust, but it's not horrible for its age. I'll eventually get it repainted, but it'll do for now.

New parts: superbike bars, Trail 70 levers/perches, new clutch cable/front brake cable, bar end mirrors, red half waffle grips.

This is what made me want to go with the red grips

Maybe 3-6" wider would be ideal.

Got sick of doing it today, so only the right side is completely blue :lol: I still need to go around the shock mounting point and remove the exhaust for the swingarm. The bars are also too fucking wide, felt like I was riding a cruiser. Tomorrow I'm gonna chop about 1-1.5in off each side.

My dad just mentioned to me that he's gonna ask someone at work about getting my wheels zinc plated... For free :mrgreen:

I ended up taking about 2.5in per side, now they feel exactly like the black bars I took off :lol:

For whatever reason, the jackass that painted it black decided to go really thin on the right side and really thick on the left side, so a bunch of blue came off with the black. :cry:

Luckily there's a guy in the body shop at work that does cheap side work, but I'll have to deal with the rat look until after the Teg is fixed.

I didn't know acetone was even strong enough to remove base coat.

I've used it to remove sticker junk and overspray off factory paints and never had the color even bleed onto the towel.
