bad ball joints

How do I tell which of my ball joints are bad an need replaced
I know they're getting bad every bump or turn makes a sqweek noise
But I dunno if its the lower or upper

92 integra rs

Do a quick visual inspection looking for torn boots.
Have someone rock the car and see if you can trace the noise.

More often than not, it's the lower ball joints that go bad

The bottom don't look torn or anything the top ones r from eBay camber kit. They are pealing. I just ordered skunk2 uppers

If they are real bad, try to rock your tire up and down while it's jacked. If there is give to the ball joint it's bad. That's how mine were before I replaced them, they were totally shot. They are pretty cheap and easy to install, so I'd just replace all of the ones that look rough.

If you need to replace the lower ball joint, you can jack the hub up, slip a ratchet between the ball joint and the control arm and lower it. That should pop the join loose.

Either that or laterally strike the LCA. The wrench trick I think works better though. I'm not a huge fan of smashing the hell out of control arms with a hammer to get things apart lol.
