It's all back together, Took it back off, Set the thermostat housing back on straight, Screwed in each side same ammount back and fourth until it went all the way down, The back screw is cross threaded but it's tight all the way down and it's sealing. I feel bad for the next owner that I crossthreaded it... But it has a new oem thermostat hopefully it lasts as long as the motor. I'm putting coolant back in and going to start it up and see if it even opens...

Had they used the XR750/1000 engine instead of the shitty standard XL1000, it probably would have been decent.

Well put coolant in, Let it idle up to temp to see if thermostat will open, Let it get all the way up to 199 and thermostat never opened. Guess this bike is just fucked

It's a dyna, Little bit more my size compared to a sportster :lol:

There were a few modified ones putting out 130+Hp which is a decent increase pver the stock 67hp :rolf:

Honda manual says 176-183 is opening temp, I got it up to 199, Still not open, Brand new oem thermostat. Yeah i have no idea wtf is wrong with it. I know the water pump works because I've seen the coolant start moving before. Could a water pump work at times and not work sometimes?
