Won't stay on when hot

my car wont stay on when it gets hot ill start driving and the check light comes on it doesnt die but ill give it gas and it wont respond then when i stop the motor shuts off then it wont start for a bit, also wont start when its been sitting in the sun, already changed main relay, and ignitor coil..need help thanks

I don't know if this is what it is... but I had a pontiac that did that, and it was the crankshaft sensor... it would drive kinda crappy too though... sometimes more than others. but when it got hot enough it would shut down for about 15 to 20 minutes at least until it cooled some. had the same problem not responding when giving it gas too... or responding very bad, like even sputtering some.

It sounds like main relay. When muck gets on hell correct me. Does your car over heat or get to running temp? And you need to get that code.

If its the main rrelay, the reason it happens is that electricity generates heat, and so the relay gets hot, which the melts the solder connections causing open circuits, which makes you have to wait till it cools down to restart.

sounded like the icm, but you said you replaced it? might help if you pull the code, that's the whole point of check engine lights..

LOL if he has a DA/DB1 just gotta pull the carpet back and count the blinks...if it's a DC...take that shit to the parts store
