Yeah, makes sense, no press required either .
I figured my car was in need of new bushings. While I was doing my gas tank I noticed my trailing arm bushings had a fair amount of dry rot on them. I'm assuming that most of the bushings were in similar condition being that the car is 16 years old now.

Haha just busting your balls. Stay in school! I only say this because I'm a counselor. But because you're a friend, you do what works best for you :thumbs up. Loving everything about your build. The f7 LCA is one of my favorite mods. Every time I wash the car, I will get under there and wipe them clean lol

Don't worry, I'll be finishing school for sure! Thanks a lot, I love your build, so it means a lot! I bet, they look so nice! You'd have to keep them clean. I ordered a silver Asr brace, so it'll be a lot of shiny parts under the car.

I just got off the phone with my Grandpa, I will be taking the car out there tomorrow afternoon to take care of the surface rust in the hatch. I'm really hoping he has enough time to help me start with the roll cage since he's a good welder and also has the equipment. It should be getting real soon if things go as planned!

Today I decided to be productive while I waited for my Grandpa to say it was ok to come over. After a while he called me saying he forgot that he had company coming over for dinner. We are planning for me to go over there Tuesday after school now.

I put as many pieces as I could into the bag and weighed them in. In the mod list I added 0.2 lbs to account for all the pieces I didn't pick up.

When I make it out to my Grandpa's I will take a wire wheel to what's left to clean it up. I also want to remove all the items circled in red and fill the holes circled in green.

Can you feel a difference with all that weight missing?

Yes sir. It's most noticeable in 5th gear cruising at 50mph and accelerating from that speed. It feels a little more "tossable" in the corners as well.
When I had the back seats out and put them back in for a little bit the car felt slower.

Yeah, I am going to paint the interior. After I do the work I need to do at my grandpa's I will paint it with what I did the gas tank and wiper arms with. After the roll cage is in I will prime and paint the interior with automotive paint.

I plan on weighing everything that goes into and comes out of the car. It'll be tricky weighing those things, but I'll do my best.
My goal is 200 lbs removed before the roll cage goes in. The roll cage will be pretty heavy, but safety first.
I feel like there's still a lot of weight in the car that I can remove, but I don't have the money for everything at the moment. I'm only 25 lbs away
The seats for example are pretty heavy and you can save probably 10 lbs each by switching to a fixed bucket seat, I just don't have that money at the moment.
I do plan on keeping heat in the car though.

Back seats are out and will be permanently out come Tuesday when I remove the mounts for them. As for the passenger seat the car is my daily so my girlfriend might be a little upset if she can't ride in my car. :lol:
