I got a call from the body shop Wednesday saying they found a few more issues with the wing and asked me if I'd like to pay the cash to get it perfected or not. It turns out the stress cracks that occurred during shipping were a little more severe than just a few small cracks. Anyways I gave them the go ahead to absolutely perfect it. They'll be removing all the cracks, small pitting and every little imperfection. Just so everyone knows the wing will NOT be painted at this time. It will wait until I get the jdm front and the rest of the exterior parts and then everything will be painted at the same time so it matches perfectly.
Huge update happening tomorrow. I'll be dropping teasers in less than 24 hours. Stay tuned!
Also, I am aware that I hit my bandwidth limit on photobucket, so I will rehost everything on another site and will get all the pictures working again.
Sorry about the delay guys. I ended up going to my girlfriend's house right after getting home from my little road trip then I passed out at home before I could even attempt the upload pictures and update this.
I'm hosting these pictures on Flickr, I'll be rehosting all the previous pictures and going through the thread and fixing everything. Bear with me, I've been really busy lately.
Anyways I woke up yesterday morning at 5:15am, headed to the gas station, put almost $100 in my dad's truck (not even a full tank btw) and hit the road. I had 340 km (211 miles) to make it to where I had to go. Jdm front by Austin Rajki, on Flickr Jdm front by Austin Rajki, on Flickr
After a long time of driving the fog started to lift, I hit some traffic and I followed a fairly clean DA for a little while. Jdm front by Austin Rajki, on Flickr
After 4 hours of driving, 1 of which was in stop and go traffic, I arrived at the importing company's warehouse. Btw, somewhere in this building is the direction my build will be taking Jdm front by Austin Rajki, on Flickr
After going through everything they had in the warehouse I picked out what I came for. A DC2 Type R front. I backed the truck up to the loading bay and we loaded it in off the forklift. The Japanese man who worked there helped me tie it all down since I'm useless when it comes to knots. Jdm front by Austin Rajki, on Flickr
I was getting pretty hungry now, it was now noon. I search the gps for something to eat near by and this shows up. I thought it was pretty funny. I ended up just getting a sandwhich from Tim Hortons and headed home. Jdm front by Austin Rajki, on Flickr
Terrible picture, but the fenders are in the back seat while the hood and bumper assembly is in the bed wrapped up in a spider web of rope. Jdm front by Austin Rajki, on Flickr
On the way home there was barely any traffic at all so I made really good time. It was around 3 hours to make it home. Everything made it home safe and sound and didn't move around at all. I drove 680 km (422 miles) roundtrip for this. Jdm front by Austin Rajki, on Flickr
I got to work unloading everything from the truck. All assembled this thing is heavy! Jdm front by Austin Rajki, on Flickr Jdm front by Austin Rajki, on Flickr Jdm front by Austin Rajki, on Flickr
All the OEM Japanese stickers and emblems are still in really good shape. The H emblem is faded, but I won't be running it anyways. It's the little things like this that I really like. Untitled by Austin Rajki, on Flickr
Then I got to work cleaning the hood Jdm front by Austin Rajki, on Flickr Jdm front by Austin Rajki, on Flickr
Everything all together.I'm really surprised that I got the rad and condensers along with the fans. I'll probably try to sell those to make some of my money back. I also got a shiny new horn to replace the one currently on my car. Also it's a good bonus to get a new hood release too. Jdm front by Austin Rajki, on Flickr Jdm front by Austin Rajki, on Flickr
Then I just took everything off the rad support and moved them into my room for safe keeping. I'll be cleaning everything else and I'll post pictures of the progress.
In case anyone is wondering this is the Non-HID version. Why would I get the Non-HID one? Welll after tons of research I've come to the conclusion that the HIDs are designed for RHD cars on RHD roads. If we use them over there the way they project blind everyone even when properly aimed. If this is true, I don't know, but it seems like a lot of people say it. Anyways IF I decide to get HIDs I will be doing an S2k retrofit. IF.
