89 Acura Integra project to help stop drunk driving! PLEASE READ

89 Acura Integra project show/ race car

hey, I am Jeff Alexander and I am 23 Y/O
I have a 1989 Acura Integra that I've been restoring the past 3-4 months. i got the car from a drunk driver that wrecked the car by going down a one way street the wrong way hitting off one parked car then driving off into an other parked car before driving up over a curb stopping... i got the car for 400$ and rebuilt the car from seized engine (now running), dint/bent fenders (been replaced), broken front bumper (fixed), cut wires (now rewired), and unneeded welds that have been removed and fixed. the car is running and safe enough to drive but still needs much work. i'm looking to help with a charity to help families pay for their child's medical bills that was involved in a drunk driving accident, stop drunk drivers and keep them off the streets. so please any info in how i can push this to make it happen will be greatly appreciated!

I've been to 4 car shows in Oregon but with a mix matched car that looks like its been pull out of a dunk yard most people wont bap an eye at it to hear what i have to say.

i have a HUGE goal to have this car in a better condition for more and better/ high end car shows and safe enough to use and race in. the more help i get the more chance i can get this project to more shows and talk with more people about what i'm trying to accomplish. i have one sponsor with AA Automotive. but it has been a rough 2 months. i really need the help and would love to hear any feed back to make this project work out. right now that is on my list of things to do is:

Paint/body work
new Coil-overs
tires
rims
seats
carpet
racing harnesses
steering wheel
exhaust

just to finish the over all look of the car for the car shows. for racing the list is too long.

Your goal is to make it an FnF wet dream? I'm all for the anti-drunk driving thing, but what you should do is resto-mod it in a clean way.

Old school Mugen CF48 wheels, lowering springs in the rear and lower the torsion bar up front, if you want aftermarket seats look at Recaros out of an E30/Scirocco/GTI/GLI or a set of Corbeau GTS II. The racing wheel, I'd go with a wood Personal/Nardi wheel and skip harnesses as those are pretty ricey for any street driven car. The exhaust you'll probably have to get custom fabricated.

that is all im really wanting is just a restoration. but for my sponsor AA Automotive he was wanting racing. as a daily driver i dont want to race it. so for right now ive been going to car shows trying to get my idea out to help ppl that have been hurt by drunk driving. it has been vary hard cuz no one will really look at the car. you always hear about the finished projects at the end. what most ppl dont see and hear is the blood sweat and tears trying to make the goal they have become a reality. i want ppl that have been there for me and been meeting at the car shows to watch the car grow with this charity as the car is now to the diamond that is hidden inside and give back to everyone that really needs it. thank you for a new lead to go on and your support.

So you're saying he should make it look like what everyone else is doing? I hate people who say all you need is a drop and wheels and you're killing the game. It's just so boring seeing over and over. Do whatever you want, I'd rather see something you don't see everyday. I mean it's cool and all but there should be more work than just that put into it. It's so plain

You might need to drop your sponsor if he wants you to race, G1's aren't exactly meant for speed. There were a few factory backed G1's in the 80s, but those were straight up race cars. Street cars are mainly just cruisers unless you wanna drop thousands of dollars on an engine swap, which would be full custom work. A B-series doesn't just drop into a G1 like it would a DA or DC.

I hear ya on the skipping over at shows. People will skip right over your project to the car that has had a full frame off restoration, plus being an 80s Japanese car since they were still considered disposable cars back then. It's the same with bikes, I've brought my project scoot to bike night a few times at Quaker Steak and the only people that gave a little bit of respect were people with other project Ruckuses, yet a finished Ruck on the road acted like a stuck up prick.

Anyway, just make it a clean DD. The few mods that I listed in my previous post were for a period correct style resto-mod, minus the lowering springs of course.

my idea is a light blue/ sky blue the color i had made up by api inc. is called french blue with a gloss black two-tone with black hood and black roof. str 505 black rims red sparco seats or red bride seats black trim red carpet with 20% black tint windows. the motor im looking to swap out with a B18B1 Trubo and hp goal is around 300. i dont want over the top ricey look but i dont want that stock restoration. just a cleaned up restoration that fits and will make ppl look at it when it drives by or when they walk by it to get them to see that i am trying to help a charity.

the ppl that i did talk to say to keep at it. they dont see old school 1st G any more and would love to see it again when its finished. my sponsor and i are working on a few idea right now for racing and im not going to say much on that project till it starts. i agree that the b18 b dont just drop in. i know a lil motor than that and do plan on spending a bit on this project.

but IMO i'd just either restore it to be one clean ass classic, or go balls out and surprise everyone.
