tripod
manual focus
remote
30 second shutter speed
ISO 800 or 1600 depending on area

thats pretty much it. i know i could get better shots if i messed with the camera more but it was so damn cold. condensation started to form on my cam.

i want to try to get more of it with a fisheye or a super wide lens. it wouldve been badass if i coulda gotten pics of it while on deployment. the milky way was soooo visible in the middle of the ocean. too bad the carrier doesnt stay still.

That's super awesome! Yeah I tried getting a milky way shot on the outskirts of town but there was still way too much light pollution. Also, like you said, a wide angle lens would have been nice as well.
