LOL no... trust me, I feel like mines are only okay. There's obviously lots of room for improvement haha.

A photographer at buttonwillow told me that we are usually the hardest on ourselves with our work.

Those look great! :thumbs up

Awesome dude. Do you have any experience using DeepSkyStacker software? I'm messing around with it for the pictures I took last night but am only getting shitty results. The stacking feature on the camera gave me better results so my settings on the software must be wrong.

The other asshole
I have no skill at this, I still make myself shoot anything interesting or potentially worth sharing.

never even heard of that. i just used an app on my phone to add my watermark. the area i was in was pitch black and the milky way was barely visible. there wasnt even that many stars when looking up, but after taking that pic, i realized i was soooo wrong.

that orange glow isnt the sun. it set behind me. that glow is city lights beyond the horizon.

Mind if I ask what equipment and settings you used? I was out the other night with no moon, staring away from light pollution and mine look nothing like that.

It's a photo stacking program for astro shots

SONY SLT-A57-K
wide angle adapter
tripod
manual focus
remote
30 second shutter speed
ISO 800 or 1600 depending on area

thats pretty much it. i know i could get better shots if i messed with the camera more but it was so damn cold. condensation started to form on my cam.
