Brz/fr-s vs. Itr

The BRZ STI is in it's teaser phase, So in the next year or so there will be a turbo'd BRZ rolling around. Now that will probably get me counting my pennies.

The FRS/BRZ is a fun little car, Very under powered and it was more designed to be a controllable drift car which is why it has prius thin wheels and tires, Tirerack.com and a few other places changed out the wheels and tires and drastically improved its track times since it made the car less tail happy. I can see how you can compare the two as one is somewhat the ultimate in FWD track fun and the BRZ/FRS is RWD track fun. I'd much rather the BRZ over the FRS because the BRZ looks better in and out. If I had a few other cars then I wouldn't mind a ITR, But as my only car... Hell no, You would never get any sleep because you'll be chasing off thieves every night.

Fact^

The ITR is wonderful, but a car with 2013 luxury and factory warranty is better to DD. While the itr is appreciating, its not at a fast enough rate to beat the used prices of a brz/FRS depreciation. Hell there were people here that were selling new frs's for 30k privately because the waiting list was so long.

The itr won't equal out to the FRS resale wise for a long time.

ITR weighs just under 2600 pounds curb weight, BRZ Premium weight 2,760 pounds curb weight. not a huge difference! (with all 340895730498 air bags) I AM getting a BRZ, It's already ordered and paid for, ect. But I just wanted you all's opinions, especially since I know the ins and outs of the integra world. How much have you guys read into the BRZ/FR-S? Have you seen the crawford tuned BRZ? They're wicked. I enjoy reading all the responses you guys have!
I think Perrin has some good stuff for the BRZ. I was following the car up until the release. I think the dip in power around 4k rpm is weird. Probably better to wait a year until the 2014 model year comes out so they can work out the bugs.

My coworker drives an FRS. The car was flawless (he got lucky) until he hydrolocked it. Apparently no dealer here knows wtf they're doing when it comes to the toyobaru. He's now going to court to get a new car because they can't seem to fix his.

He showed me a forum post of the HUGE list of reported problems with the FRS/BRZ first runs. It's over 100 issues long. If it were me, i'd have waited for 2014, or even '15. The issues are mainly small stuff like squeaks and rattles and whining. For me that's not an issue after owning old ass cars, but I guess when you buy a brand new car off the lot you get to expect more out of it.

Either way, i'd actually like to own a brz. I like them a lot.

I'd get an ITR before BRZ/FRS. I have a friend with a 2013 FRS and he said it's just not worth the payments etc. He'd rather have a EG civic and build it.

Edit: I should have mentioned he does have a eg civic and he is building, And selling the frs... Lol His EG will be fast as fck too. I've seen the motor going in it in person and lets just say 700whp-800whp minimum
That is kinda how I see it now.

Imagine what type of S2000 you could get for the same price of a brand new BRZ/FRS. Even half price of BRZ can get a decent S2000.

What a thread, If I was buying a new car there's no way I would buy that pimped around, overpriced, made in 20 different countries, piece of shit. That thing is an atrocity to automobile manufacturing, reminds me of something GM would have done. If it sold for less then 20k it could be thought about, but it's over 25k, for nothing. Anyway, there's plenty of way way better new cars out there for that price.

For that kinda money id get a rx7 either a super clean 2nd gen or a perfect 3rd gen.
And you might have the worst DD ever then lol. Crap AC, crap MPG, and a Crap ride, but it's a beautiful amazing to drive car, I'll give you that much.

It's so worth it. My uncle had a red 88 and that's what started my love affair with cars. Until I saw how easily a jeep Cherokee can drive over one. Which strangely enough that's what he bought after the wreck.
