So as i just joined a couple weeks ago and thought that my head gasket was bad, I did a compression test to make sure. Well i got 170, 170, 175, 175 from cyl 1 to cyl 4 so it looks good and so I decided to address my oil leak issues first, now I see that it looks like the stock cam plug was on the car and that a retarded 5 year old with turrets went crazy with red RTV. As I was replacing the plug and tightening down the cam cap (yest I made sure pressure was off the cam as not to distort it) and one of the bolts broke before I could even torque it to the required 7 lb/ft.

Well time to stop on that project to now find someplace in Southern Cali that sells these bolts, or just go to a hardware store and get one that is rated with more tensile strength than these stock crappy bolts. I also picked up an adapter to test the pressure on my cooling system. My stock cap leaks air like crazy and there are a bunch of little holes all over the plastic part of the radiator.

Anyone have a good suggestion for a replacement radiator? I am ok with a performance one since the stock ones are single core and I wouldn't mind having a double core radiator.

I will be doing thermostat and new hoses as well.. Dang I now understand why this car was overheating, I wonder how long she was mistreated.

I am glad you are sticking with it, your car will reward you when you have it completed. For a radiator choose a Mishimoto. I love mine and have never heard anything bad about them! Good luck man.

Thanks, yeah i figure for $1300 it is in great condition and runs quite well, I finally got the valve cover on and the camp plug done, no leaks so far. I did pick up another b18a1 head complete with studs and cams with cover for $20 from a buddy so I will be selling that, although it is in great shape.

No I am working on getting the antenna working/fixed and then rpelacing the radiator, got a buddy from honda tech that got me a hook up on a radiator.

I will do a coolant flush here to get the whole cooling system cleared out before getting some new hoses, radiator, and tstat.

Looking for my next Teg..
Mishimotos are great radiators for sure.. except for the price... I however went with budget 2 core aluminum radiator on fleabay... only issue I had was the cheap ass plastic radiator plug which I replaced with a brass petcock valve. added a couple high velocity slimfans & some 3 ply silicone radiator hoses and my tegs cooling runs great for a cheap fix to a common problem.

total cost for all of the parts was under 400 bucks. & I installed it all myself to save $$$ at the time. that and I coulddn't justify a 400 dollar radiator on a daily driver vehicle.

Nice!

A buddy got me a hook up locally at a parts store I need to call and get it, I think it's just a replacement radiator for $90 I am just gonna get some new hoses and thermostat, I do all my own work, well except tuning I still have yet to sit down and figure that out on the camaro. I am just glad that it is a bit easier of a fix.

I will say if anyone in SoCal needs a b18a1 head that looks pretty straight with valve cover I have an extra one now lol.
