I normally just leave the fuel rail and intake manifold attached and just remove the head as a whole.

First drain your coolant and your oil.

While you are under your car to drain the oil it would be a good time to remove the bracket that bolts your intake manifold to your block. It would also be a good time to unbolt your header from the cat and the block and to unplug your O2 sensor.

Remove your intake...steps for this depend on if you have stock or after market. Generally it is common sense though

Then unplug all the wires that are plugged in to the head and intake manifold and also remove the dizzy.

Now remove all of the hoses that attach the block to the head, don't forget the ones on the back.

Now just remove the fuel line and vacuum lines.

Now unbolt the header. You can gently set it on the ground, there is no need to take it completely out from underneath the car.

Then remove the valve cover and loosen the timing belt tensioner. Do not remove the tensioner bolt completely. Once the tensioner is loosened and the valve cover is off you can just slip the belt off he cam gear(s).

Now remove the cam shaft(s).

Now you will be able to remove the head bolts and shimmy the head off. Sometimes the dowels cause the head gasket to get stock to the head, this can be a real b**** sometimes if the gasket is stuck to the block as well.

I am sure I am missing some things, but that is the gist of it. If you need more detailed information let us know.

Muckman, I think that link and "Did you try to google it first?" should go in our sigs. Would make life easier.

Ive asked for the service manuals to be made into a sticky thread. I dont understand how people attempt to work on engines without a clue.

It's so damn simple, it gives you exact instructions on what to to with pictures. They don't make the manual so you can read something before bed. Some people

go to the the junk yard and pick one up or is it on the bottom of the injector because that's different. Broken one on another injector once.
Filter sits in top of the fuel injector which goes into the fuel rail, also some times you don't even need to remove the fuel injectors from the fuel rail (depends on the car though)

Still don't know why you bothered to remove the fuel rail and injectors from the intake manifold...

Correct me if I'm wrong but you can use the same intake manifold for a head swaps (assuming b1 to c1)?

Where the hell did that come from? All I said was he didn't neec to remove the fuel rail from the intake mani...even if he wanted to put the intake mani on another head the fuel rail still wouldn't need to come off. Also, I believe the GSR has its own unique intake flange set up that doesn't match any other honda head. I am damn sure an LS intake mani won't fit it though and vise versa. Either way though why in the hell would you want an LS intake manifold on a gsr head?
