I've seen some cars that look really good plastidipped and I have seen some bad. If you do a good job and chose the right color I think it can look decent. Also the matte type colors aren't for everyone, hence why I haven't pursued it.

This is mostly right. If you want it done dont do it yourself because I garentee you will mess it up unless you know what your doing and have a spray gun. Ive seen quite a few cars around here done and there is a shop that actually does it. I wouldnt recommend only having a shop do it cause they know what there doing. Lol. Same thing goes with paint too I guess.. Lol

wouldnt do a whole car. good for things like wheels or lips or whatever.
pros: easy to touch up, cheap as hell, easy to spray
cons: matte, sometimes hard to find colors, limited colors, can look cheap

It's hard to make a DC or DB look good with plastidip. The only good example I've seen is Khoa's. His is flawless and I think it's because he didn't use the rattle can but an actual spray gun. On any other occasion, plastidip should only be used for trims only IMO.

only thing i have plasti dipped were my wheels, looked and came out well, but a bitch to keep clean, yes i know being white they would show more but hard to get clean.

You guys do know they sell a gloss spray now right? Goes right over the plasti dip like a clear coat. Looks pretty good and makes it a LOT easier to clean. You can clean it off with just a wet rag or towel, unlike the matte where it's a huge pain to clean.

Yeah yeah yeah, I know, old thread.
How has dipping trim gone for you? I'm looking to dip my trim and I was curious as to how it all went? Super noob life over here so please be detailed.

basically, i like fast!
I'll be doing mine soon. Blue tape a rectangle around it and spray inside the box. Then just use a razor blade and trim around the trim... lol. Pull the painters tape off and pull the excess dip off.
