Retrofit in these lights or buy new bulbs?

Choice is yours. In order to take advantage of a retrofit you need the clear lens. It may still be better with the glass fluted lens but is it worth that much money just to get a cutoff line and better spread on the light? Well that depends on how it turns out.

Don't the stock lights scatter the beam and blind drivers?

You mean the stock lens with the retro? If anything it'll diffuse the light even if it scatters it so it wont be anymore 'blinding' to people in front of you than halogen. Look around the net. Pretty sure people have already done this and posted info/pics.

Google 'hid retro fluted lens' and you will see examples including a thread for da's.

I saw a DA retro on HID planet with the stock headlights. The stock lenses completely messed up the light pattern, no cut off line. The stock lenses totally defeat the purpose and function of the retrofit.

Did you search and look through threads? If not and your content with your findings on hid planet then it brings us back to my first comment. Decide for yourself. Fluted lens will always distort output. Logical resolutions. Pick your compromise. Accept the lower output. There's still a cutoff and that's why I don't think you really took time to examine photos. Light distribution is still wider and more even or controlled than halogen reflectors. Or get clear lenses. Another option is getting rid of the flutes either on glass or jdm plastic lenses. Also why I said to search, it's there. If the output through the flutes are not acceptable to you then there's only one choice left and two paths to get there.

Looking for my next Teg..
all I'll add ( and this is just my opinion) is why would you want to put crap plastic lights on your teg???

My other suggestion is to finish figuring out what you plan to do mechanically before you get distracted with aesthetics. Slow down and make a project plan & first decide if you are going to keep or sell that autocrappic for a manual :p

Well I still don't know how to drive manual. Also I agree with the lights thing. I love OEM and hate the chinese ricer 1pc lights but I can't see at night. My lights are horrible which is why I want to do a retro.

why not upgrade to better bulbs? My trick is I just turn on the fogs at night with the headlights... works great

granted ya get a few idgits that flash you thinking you have hi beams going but fuck em... as stated they are idgits.

1) Hid's are not aesthetics. They're functional lighting.
2) jdm g2's are plastic 1pc lenses. Ok let's say you're talking about the clear lenses. I've seen plenty that look good.

not JDM one pieces, those are nice. I'm talking about the chinese knockoff's. The one's I have listed in this thread.
and those are what I am referring to not "JDM" 1 peices... SMH

an HID can be incorporated into a USDM 3 peice or JDM 1 peice lens assembly, but as far as the chinese crap... it is my opinion as a G2 owner they look like crap... nuff said.

I have seen a G2 with OEM 1 pieces retrofitted and the HIDs worked well. Still had the clean line. He took the time to sand the inside of the lens smooth at the headlight area so the light output wasn't scattered or diffused. I'm sure it took some time and some don't like the look of the smooth lens at the headlight and still fluted at the fogs and turn signals. IMPO, best headlights for a G2 are a clean set of OEM 1 pieces and Raybrig high output bulbs.
