Ok guys so I finally got around to making one of these. First let me start off by saying I couldn't have gotten a lot of the progress I have on this car without a few fellow CI members who gave me their helpful advice and opinions. Also, I ask any who view my build thread, please don't flame or write trolling posts. I understand my car was riced out a bit at first, but I'm working on fixing my mistakes. So here we go.
Day 1: Car dropped off at my house June 10, 2012 Odometer read about 184416 miles. Here's a few pics:
Automatic
Bone stock B18A1
Crappy aftermarket radio that came with the car.
Garbage wiring job on the crappy radio. Yes, those wires are spliced and held together with scotch tape. the two green wires that aren't wired up to anything turned out to be for the rear speakers. The idiot who had the car before me also chopped off the factory radio harness. :x
Now, here's where I begin to lose track of the dates and months because I accumulated these pictures but never organized them by date. So from here it will just be the progress I've made.
Temporary ebay wheel. Needed this because my knees would hit the factory wheel. Planning to upgrade to a Personal or MOMO wheel in the coming weeks before inspection time in June.
Replaced the radio with a Pioneer DEH-X6500BT so I can wirelessly stream music from my phone.
Proper radio wiring using wire crimps
Added Dual 10in. MTX Magnum subwoofers with an 800w amp
Cursed with the passenger floor leak through the windshield cowl seals. Even after replacing the seals which cost $30, the floor still gets moist, so I just cut out that section of carpet.
Factory power antenna was shot, so I replaced it with an $8 Scosche antenna from walmart.
Front speakers were rotted out so I replaced them with Kicker DS60's.
When I got the car, the factory muffler was rusted to s**t.
It took me 2 days to chop off the bolts with my dremel holding the muffler to the center pipe.
New OEM muffler on with new bolts and a new gasket. Pics of the exhaust tips can probably be seen in other pictures.
Water was leaking into the trunk through the gaskets and bulb sockets
Took the stock taillights off and cleaned the area up
At the time I didn't have the money to replace the OEM lights or their gaskets, so I bought these cheap lights off ebay. They came with gaskets. I regret the time I actually rode around with these on the car.
Eventually I was tired of the ricer taillights, so I pulled them and replaced them with the stock taillights again. The driver side taillight had several cracks in the lens.
Bought some plasti dip and dipped the rear emblems black and bought a black Acura emblem for the hood.
Found these tinted taillights on ebay for $25! A steal considering they're OEM's and a single driver side taillight goes for $30 on ebay. Matches the dipped emblems very well.
Finally got around to doing some engine mods. New cold air intake.
Next up also, Function and Form Type 1's, Skunk2 Front and Rear camber kits, Megan Racing lower control arms, NRG front strut bar, Megan racing rear strut bar, Skunk2 intake and throttle body, and Megan Racing Headers.
