oh i know the feeling when i had the BMW LOL
i was driving my sister's mini for like a week and a half until i got my bummer fixed. first day of work at my new job i drove into the parking barrier. the mini's nose is much shorter than an E46

LMAO i have bashings on my oil pan right now and i'm horrified to slam it even more for the ECHM in VA...6hr trip one way...

wait.. 'raise our cars'? i have no idea what that even means.

anywho, ill be hitting the yards today to find a replacement pan. hopefully theyre not too expensive.

The best thing to do is take a piece of cardboard and make a stencil of the skid plate. Then trace it out on a piece of sheet steel or aluminum. Take metal cutters then mock up to your undercarriage and use self tapping screws and screw it into the frame. That's it

A skid plate won't really do much good unless incredibly well designed. Its just going to lower the 'bottom' of whatever you're trying to protect and increase the likelihood of its getting bashed.

Oh and have fun taking it off once you grind off the heads on whatever you use to attach it.
