Wipers smashing

Hi there,

I recently bought my new to me integra.
One of the few things wrong with it is that the wipers don't seem to go as far as they need to when horizontal.
When the wipers go down they smack the bottom of the windshield really hard.
I can't figure what's wrong with them and I've tried searching alot for a solution.
I've already blown through a pair of fresh wipers because the clips exploded.

Help is much appreciated

Take the wipers off and try resetting them higher. If they go too far down, but not far enough up, then use your head, lol.

Sounds like the "axel" is not lined up properly, well the wipers i should say. Like the system is rotated more clockwise (sitting inside car). Idk how, but ud have to take apart the cowl and check it out, see if you can 'reset' the wipers

EDIT: i notices he beat me to it DO'H!

You don't need to take apart the cowl to reset the wiper position. Just use a socket wrench to take off the arm, assuming this is a third gen.
OP, if you can't figure it out; I can take a picture of the bolt that holds the wiper on. It's impossible to miss

x2... 14MM socket, remove the retainer nuts, wiggle the arms off and set em higher... 10 minute task if that. you will need to do both probably as the mechanism on the g2 is connected by a rod under the cowling that makes both wiper work together.

that said don't worry about under the cowling. just pop the arms off and set them a little higher on the spindles, then tighten them back down.

Thanks for the info - i think I fixed it but I won't be able to tell until it rains.. Lol
On an unrelated note (didn't want to start a new thread)
Does anyone know how to tighten door hinges on a second gen?
Do I need to take off the fender panel?

Lol thanks Ryan :p

Basically the doors aren't lined up perfectly with the seals.
Its hard to open the doors and when you close them you have to push the doors up as you shut.

I have this issue with my driver side door... allthough it isn't as bad as your issue... I could be wrong as I haven't thorougly inspected the hinges, but I do believe they are welded to the body. That said once you start getting door sag you need to have a body shop pop and re- weld the hinges.
