Intake help

Hi there,

I just picked up a cheapish intake from craigslist.
I have a 93 rs and the guy I got it from had a 92 rs.
The question I have is what am I supposed to do with the tubes that are currently attached to my stock intake?
Am I supposed to cut them? Just leave them as is once I take the stock intake out?

Thanks for the help!

So I don't need to worry about the 2 hoses that are currently attached from my stock intake to the engine?
Here's a picture from my engine bay (ignore that intake pipe it's a different one).
There's 2 hoses connected from my stock intake..

Looking for my next Teg..
on cheaper intakes they do not use those hoses... I've seen plenty of guys running without them. AEM & Injen are 2 of the only CAI systems I have seen that allow you to keep them. Just plug the hoses.

Thats no good in cali...

Put a little filter on the nipple of the valve cover, i guess.

Had to cut both pipes but I think it turned out good.
This picture isn't the finished product just the placement
Would it be worth it to build a heatshield/icebox?
Also I was talking to someone today and they said I should get copper connectors and drill into the pipe.
He also told me not to cover the hoses.. What's the best option?
