Exhaust options/opinions

So my family recently acquired a muffler shop and I can pretty much do whatever I want to my car because we have a pipe bender and welder and the whole nine yards. Is straight piping my best option as far as performance goes (will straight piping yield greatest gains) I'm also worried about sound. I like deep rich exhaust tones not high pitched raspy tones. Would it be best for me to just buy a muffler, say ws2 for example, and then just weld 2.5 inch piping from my cat to the muffler? I have a stock gsr with a type r header and high flow cat. Looking to finish I/H/E

Try 2 resonators and see how you like it. You can always add a muffler later. Straight through designs are ideal, yes.

The shop is in Austin, TX. And yeah I'll have to try a resonator and see if it quiets it down a bit. I'll probably end up just buying the WS2 muffler and then welding 2.5 or 3 inch pipe from my header back(with a flex pipe or something)

Austin TX you say? Well kind sir, if you hook a nigga up I'll send business your way :) well if you do good work lol.

Did your family buy it to use for personal stuff or did you acquire the business entity itself?

That's actually the OD too, so it will just be a little smaller. Also if it makes you feel any better, the stock ITR exhaust size is 57.2mm which is 2.25" and most a number of aftermarket exhausts for the ITR are 60mm. So your 2.25" idea should be good until at least 200hp. WS2 will give you a good tone, but the tip on the universal muffler isn't in the best place for an Integra.
