Never go bigger than 17. Ever. 18s will rub even at stock height. Gotta camber the hell out of it to get it to fit right.

There are a couple of screws that hold it in, the body kit, to my knowledge, shouldn't be in the way

They might already be taken out. Just get a set of 17's. Is that your car in your avatar? You should post some pics with and without the 18's,
