What Squad would I be in? (What kind of Tegra do I have?)

I recently bought a 1990 Integra RS 1.8 5 speed. I'm used to driving German cars and know literally nothing about Jap cars.

It was in great condition, couldn't pass up the deal for $1000.

Would mine be a DA or a DB2? I'm kind of confused.

Thanks.

UPDATE:

It's a 2 door coupe. I'm going to take a few LQ pics right now for reference until I can upload good ones tomorrow during the day after I wash and detail it.

To clear up your confusion, if you have the 2nd generation (90-93) 2 door, you have the DA9. The DB2 is the 2nd generation GS-R, which is pretty rare.

For third generation Integras (1994-2001)

DC4: 2 door B18B1 non-VTEC
DC2: 2 door B18C1/5 VTEC

DB7: 4 door B18B1 non-VTEC
DB8: 4 door B18C1 VTEC

94RS

No fucks given.

But if he has a 4 door, then he would have a DB1.

Alright and I know I sound like a complete noob but how would I be able to tell if mine was the GS-R? I can go outside real quick and take a few pics of my engine.

This is my first experience whatsoever owning a non-German car so I do apologize.

Please refrain from using that term around here.
No prob, but what's so bad about it? It's just an abbreviation. I wouldn't mind if people called BMWs Germ cars or Kraut-Mobiles. In my area, it's not offensive to use that term. All mechanics use that term for Hondas, Toyotas, etc.

The GS-R's have a VTEC engine as well as the moldings on the front fenders say VTEC instead of DOHC like the normal LS/GS/RS. Easiest way would be to check your vin #, but.....considering yours is a 90, it's not a GSR. Those were only 92-93.

On your front fenders the moldings would have vtec stamped in them, it would say GS-r on the back, your engine would say b17a1 on the block, your tach would go up to 9000rpms, your motor would say dohc vtec on the valve cover, vin would start with JH4DB2

To me that's like calling black people niggers, mexicans spics, etc. You do realize that term evolved during the war and was used in a racist way. Just because a bunch of white mechanics use the term doesn't make it OK.

Oh, I didn't realize that. And yes, mine is a DA9.

Will post pics tomorrow. Way too dark. Camera flash couldn't pick it up.

Whoa whoa way too sensitive there bro. I get that nigger is offensive but Jap is just a shorthand thing...

I don't think I'm being sensitive, I think a lot of Americans grow up in areas lacking Asian culture. I realize TheGerman didn't mean anything racist when using it which is why I just asked him to please not use it.

Gook, Chink, Jap, these are all racist terms. Take a poll and I think you see that most people feel the same way. I know people use it as shorthand but because of history it's really not acceptable.

Well I dont use it considering my heritage obiously Ive just never been offended by it. Eh Im npt really offended by anything tho so maybe Im not the ideal candidate for sensitivity.

I'm not either but I can't speak for everyone and I don't want anyone upset by it. I know my wife gets pissed when people use it.
