Well today is not what I had wanted. The piston rings in the new block are bad. I am going to drive it for a little while and see if it gets better(because it is already starting to smoke less and less substantially the more I drive it), but we will see. More than likely I will just have to re-ring it and call it a day. That will be later down the road. Right now it is all about having fun at track. Smoke be damned lol.

Oh and for those who are wondering I got 179whp 130 torque. Which is basically identical to what I had at Church if you factor in the 15% difference from dynapack to dynojet. It will be a little higher once I do the rings, but my biggest power killer is my header/exhaust. That 2 inch collector is killing me lol. Also I need to get an AEM cold air intake. Once I get those things it should be really fun. But first step is get the rings done.

My guess is that it smokes in high rpms while accelerating.
Yup. It smokes under load. To be fair it smokes less than my previous block. Right now it just looks like basic worn out rings, or rings that never seated. Nothing crazy, but still kind of sucks haha.

I should have just done the rings any way when it was out. So that is my fault. I was just under the assumption it was ready to rock. Lesson learned. It is always better to take as many precautions as possible. Spend the little bit of money for the piece of mind and insurance...even if it may not need it. Never assume! That is the lesson here ladies and gentleman. Haha

I am trying to get a little bit of cash together before/on track day. So here is a list of things I have up for sale that I can bring with me to track for those who are going:

Knock Sensor - $30
OEM OBD II Alternator - $40
A lot of spare parts from my old short block - OBO on individual items or $250 for everything(GSR Crank, 82mm RS Machine PR3 Pistons on gsr rods with arp rod bolts, oil pump, block girdle, oil pan and all that fun stuff and of course the useless block itself)
Entire rear interior (Panels, seat, belts, etc) - Make offers
Buddy club passenger side seat bracket - $70

If I think of anything else I will add it to the list later. Really need to sell some stuff ASAP lol

Well, the track day was fun. Thank you all who came out. And thank you Raceline for hosting it. The first session was worthless for me. I couldn't get my tires to grip at all it seemed. Constant over steer, which was fun, but also sketchy at times. After lunch the weather was perfect though and I was able to get a new PB. Not the PB that I wanted, but progress is progress. I will be uploading the vids soon. Probably my whole first session in its entirety as well lol.

There were quite a few sucky things yesterday though. The first sucky thing was how Matt was only able to do 1 full session because of a flat tire. Which was a major bummer. Really wanted to see him get 2:10.

The other major issue with my group was my friend Nhien blew a tire on track in his 350z about mid day. So he went and bought a used tire to get him home and it blew up on the way home...

On a happier note Tony Jackson killed it in that HT-Cup with a sick pass on Lost Hill on the final lap. Major props sir!

Can't wait to get back out there!

Here is some my track footage from yesterday:

Here are some laps from session 4:

Here is me trying to keep up with Adam Davis' FRS until I mess up the apex on lost hill and completely lose i:

And here are the spins I did in sessions 1 and 2...

I still have a TON to work on after viewing the footage. I still believe the car can do 2:10 with this current set up..Just have to work for it.

Hah yeah He was running a 2:10-2:12 pace all day long. Figured I would try to keep up and I did for the entire track until I got to Phil Hill again... blah lol

Looked over my lap times. Still sooo slow!

Session 1:
Warm Up Lap: 2:23.287
Hot lap 1: 2:18.900
Cool Down Lap: 2:23.574

Because of how cold it was I learned that I would need 1.5 to 2 warm up laps. I was sliding around the entire hot lap of the first session.

Session2:
Transponder issues.

Session 3:
Warm up Lap 1 - 2:28.119
Warm up Lap 2 - 2:23.282

Hot Lap 3 - 2:16.950

Session 4:
Warm Up Lap - 2:29.640
Hot Lap 1 - 2:14.849
Hot Lap 2 - 2:13.631
Hot Lap 3 - 2:14.120
Hot Lap 4 - 2:13.483
Hot Lap 5 - 2:14.583

Session5:
Warm Up Lap - 2:29.612
Partial Warm up turned Hot Lap 1 - 2:15.600

Damn bro I don't think those times are bad at all, given you have been off the track for a bit. Get a nice solid suspension going and your car will work magic on the track. : )
