Anybody else do this?

Anytime I have to leave my car in a public parking lot for more than an hour, I get nervous and think it's gonna get f*cked wither worse. Stolen. Anybody else have this phobia?

Yup, I don't leave my teg anywhere for an extended period of time except my garage. I had my old one stolen in the middle of the day while eating lunch.

All the damn time.

I have it so bad that if I'm going to take my car out of town for an extended period of time I'll pull all of my big parts and put stock ones on: wheels, exhaust, lights. Always afraid someone's going to mess with it.

Also, if someone follows me for more than two or three turns, I change routes.

I'm afraid to leave my teg in my driveway [no garage :( ]. I live in a nice neighborhood though lol

You guys can easily disable the vehicle by pulling the ECU fuse or taking the ECU with you. Some people have wired up kill switches and hidden them. If your running a chipped ECU you can configure the calibration to enable anti theft features like requiring the brake pedal to be pressed 3 times before starting, etc. Get creative.

Of course this wont prevent it from being towed..

Or people pulling stuff off and just leaving it sit.

Had a bad dream about that one last night. Went into Walgreens, came out and my car was a shell.

I'm going to think about that. hmm

Me too, I left my key in the car less than a month after i got the car, and i was astonished about how easy it was for my friend to unlock the car with a jerry bar (i forgot what its called, some thin metal stick). Got an alarm system quick after that. I still get scared for my car, cuz its flashy, especially at night. Even when its sitting in the lot while im working :(

My car is impossible to steal. It sits on jackstands 9 months out of the year and completely dissassembled. Good luck thieves!

I'm always worried about it. Anytime I'm home and hear a loud car I get very worried. Doors are always locked and windows always up. I live in a nice area where theft is not a large issue but I still get worried.
I've driven 20 miles out of my way because someone was following me. I just started driving around aimlessly until they gave up. I never pull into my neighborhood if someone has been following me for 1 turn. If they turn in with me, I go around the block and leave.

I do the same thing with hearing a loud car, but I'm not paranoid enough to do the rest of the stuff you said.

I worry about my car, but I've gotten used to the fact that it will be stolen eventually. When it does happen i'll be pissed, but USAA will take care of me.

I take my car everywhere lol, I guess San Antonio really isn't that bad. DD duty in some bad places for months now and it hasn't been stolen yet.
