Nice dude. That didn't take long at all.
Not my first rodeo. :p I actually took my time with it since I was sick. It was actually around 10 work hours. 4 of which were spent cleaning the head....

Nice work bro! Happy Tuning! =D

What did you use to clean the combustion chambers?

I like your gold ITR strut bar. I might have to copy that Haha

What all are you going to try derek? By the way did you reuse your old head bolts when you replaced the head gasket after it blew? It could have blown because you stretched your head bolts.

It was a system to clean it. Soak with purple power degreaser. Absorb most of the degreaser with a rag. Then scrub really hard in circular motions with a wire brush. Then blast with carb cleaner. Then repeat the process until it looks clean. Then blast it with the air compressor to dry it out and remove any remaining particles. Took forever and was very tiring but it got the job done.

It is an ITR rep. I actually hate it. It is a POS. The brackets are super weak. The bar itself is fine though.

And thanks goofy

I reused the head bolts since there was only 2500 miles on them. Or so I thought. I think he reused them too and over torqued to compensate for the stretch and this is why I think it leaked the first time. I'm going to buy some arp studs and a new cometic HG. Since I'm getting the head resurfaced I might get a little more work done. We will see how much money I have to work with. If the block turns out to be the problem I have another block I can use for the time being. That's where I would need some help.

Sounds like a solid plan. Over torqued to compensate for the stretch? lol If anything that caused them to stretch more.

Ya. It would increase the torque value but when I pulled the head the stretch was too much. But just to make sure I will straight edge the block just to check. We will see. Ill update my build thread once things finally start getting done.
