Snow...in Alabama

They said it wasn't supposed to snow but 1/2 an inch in the Birmingham area, no big deal right? They underestimated the winter storm. lol The roads are beginning to close and we have almost 2'' on the ground...and of course...being Alabama, people are freaking out. My step father was in a wreck this morning resulting in a crunched up hood, all because some lady slammed on her brakes because she was on her phone, she hit the person in front of her, causing her car to go up, he ran into the back of her, up under her vehicle and someone ran into him. Why do people drive like idiots in the snow?

On another note, I can't get my car out of my drive way. lol

Yeah its like that here too except they're forecasting 5-7 inches. I tried going to work and couldn't get out of my road. The rain all of a sudden turned to snow and made a huge slush in the road. This is only an hour and a half after the rain turned to snow:

Every time it snows, it gets so quiet outside. Creepy as F***!

Now THAT sucks. Most of it melted when the sun came out, it IS Alabama. But about 20 minutes up HWY 79 my mom's whole town is snowed/iced in...how it happened...I have noo clue. Where do you live?

I live in Strawberry Plains, TN. About 10 miles from Knoxville. The power just came back on and it was still snowing when the sun went down. The electric company said there were over 20k people in the area without power.

Sheesh...I used to live in Henrietta, between Ashland City and Clarksville, for a total of 4 months, I LOVED IT. :) Glad you got power back.

Well I hate snow. Being in it at least. But setting things I'm familiar with in snow is fun. I just grab a can and a coozie and watch it snow.

That's some awesome powder you guys got over there. I'd go snowmobiling to the store.

Also, your drivers out there drive in the snow like our drivers drive in broad daylight.

Man Tennessee has some really bad drivers, (no offense to those that live there) But when I lived there more people drove with their brights on, on the interstate then they do on the back roads here in bama.
