Hey I have a quick question about the buddy club exhaust I just purchased. I can't find our if its a cat back exhaust or not. I see its illegal and some say its legal idk what's right. I don't care about sound restrictions more as much as it maybe not having cats. Just want to know if the exhaust either has a cat on it or uses a cat. Just don't need fines for bot having a cat while running this exhaust. Thanks get back asap please!!

Simple.

Cat-back is exactly what it sounds like. From the cat, back to the muffler. It can use a cat or a test pipe.
Running no cat is illegal via federal law, but leaves the states to enforce it via vehicle inspections.
Some states have no inspection, like the part of Fl I lived in. Others have inspection, but don't give a rat about the emissions system, like Texas. Then there is Commieforn----I mean California. They have every restriction possible there.

Sound ordinance varies state to state. I know in Texas, every truck is louder than my car will ever be, even with open header.

It comes down to where you live. If you have no inspection or a sub par inspection, then go for it. Tear the cat off and run a test pipe. If you live in a place like cali, then get a hi-flow cat and make sure its carb legal.

Yup yup! make life easier and get a shop to weld flanges on everything. Replacing it down the road will be less of a headache lol
