2012 ROTY Competition Discussion

You must not forget that most people dont know the differences between certain parts so they made their best decision. Its only natural that a category like best suspension will go to a track car but that doesnt mean someone wouldnt have entered with money invested and doesnt track their car. Theres plenty of people out their with some baller setups that just park, theyre just not here. :rolf:

Bottom line though is for people to participate and have fun doing it. I dont really care who the winners are but congrats to them, as long as votes were done by comparisons the top choices should have been reasonably close.

Pictures can be misleading period. But pictures win e-peen contests. And yes, strut bars definitely help, Dylan's is sexy. But that's part of the interior is it not? Lol that's like saying wheels help with the exterior. Duh
Yeah I agree, it should count since it is part of the interior. I wasn't discrediting it. Since you bring up dylan lets use him as the example. I have personally seen the inside of his car, and it doesn't look nearly as show worthy as it does in the pics. Which is fine, the whole point of pics is to make your car look good. But I think his rear strut bar is what sells it big time, because the rest of it is just basic track car, still has left over tar gunk from the sound deadening and such. Still a nice interior for a track car dont get me wrong, and I like the guy, he is chill as hell, but it isn't a "crispy" interior. Certain cars have certain advantages in certain categories, thats how its always going to be, which is fine. I like the idea of mixing styles and purposes.

Also, I agree with 8urcivic. I have been trying to not vote for my friends. Some categories I did, but I think the majority of my votes, including best overall and best NA, went to people I do not know. I also agree zawn has one of the better suspension set ups, however I voted for Matts, simply because I have sat in both Matts and Zawns at the track and I just preferred how Matts felt. It may have been how they both adjusted the dampers, or how he loaded his suspension, but I just liked how his felt better. I do agree that hers deserves to get a of of votes though.

Why does it seem that the discussion is only complaints about how people are voting again? This happens every year when one guy thinks his car is hot s*** but is not getting the votes he expected, and then lashes out and does the "popularity contest" excuse. Tough s***. Everybody works hard on their cars and if you think one person worked harder in another area and think they should win, get real. Why should it matter since everyone votes how they want based on what they see and like what the owner has done to it. Day one of voting and we already have tons of complaints about it. Don't get butthurt just because the logic behind how someone votes and see things doesn't match your expectations. I happen to know a lot of people in this "supposed to be fun" competition that I didn't vote for. The competition was made for fun, so have some fun and stop b****ing. Nobody has to justify why they voted for such and such. Anyone who is complaining about that is f***ing retarded.

I don't even want to argue on this point. But, lets just put it like this: I know how to take a picture, and I also know how to clean my x bar. It looks shiny because I wiped it down for the first time in a year. I don't care that its dirty, I don't care that there's still tar from the sound deadening. It's good though. People change during Roty, and that's alright. Don't see why I'm being singled out, I never said "oh shit my x brace makes my interior look tight" it's there because I like it and that's it. People vote how they want and I'm not going to get my panties in a bunch if they don't vote the way I see fair. It's all good though.

Just curious why not? Best suspension is basically a track award. This would basically be the opposite end of the spectrum. I guess you old balls really aren't accepting of all styles :D
Get your ruckus buddies to be eligible next year. I would do a ruckus category.

That would be pretty cool to have a ruckus category. I thought they were super gay when crabby first got his, but now I only think they're kinda gay.

Im not opposed to adding a track car of the year and a DD of the year. I feel like it would even some opinions out, I'll vote for a car thats fast around the track for ROTY over a clean as hell DD any day (sorry Joe). Other people are opposites and that would make for a more accurate voting process. Just my .02.

Dd would be major major major honor system. Mark Kyle and i keep trying to find a fair way for there to be a track car thread. I suggested best interior because it would be fun.
