I sold my LS tranny to my buddy Loi from Loi-Spec Garage and decided to have the ITR tranny installed. Turns out that the case was missing the t-bracket and also had a crack. Feeling a bit uneasy, Loi decided to open her up and we discovered that the transmission is actually not an ITR, but a B16 w/ LSD. We also found out that 3rd and 4th gears are absolutely destroyed. Seeing that the B16 tranny was not going to work out, I decided to go fetch my extra S80 tranny at home and see if it was okay to install onto my B20. Loi opened up the S80 and discovered that it was indeed from a GS-R and mated it onto the motor. I test drove DJ and the tranny seems to be in perfect running order. The shorter gear ratios definitely increased the acceleraton and the B20 revs up nice and quickly. It may not have an LSD, but I'll be fine for now.

Here's a photo of the B16 and GS-R transmissions being torn up and inspected.

At least u found out the easy way and inspected it! That would of really sucked if u found out after installing it!

Right? I definitely didn't want to take the risk of installing it without inspecting it first. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

After going back and forth, I finally decided to ditch the RT-615K and picked up a set of the Federal 595RS-R yesterday. :thumbs up
