Yeah, it is exciting. I am still a little nervous about the new set up though, because it is a bit outside of my comfort zone. But it should be very fun. I can't wait to see what elton does tuning wise. And to finally have a solid build will be nice. The numbers mean nothing to me at this point.

Thanks man. And yeah I will keep you all informed. Just as soon as I get my new block I will have pics of her and of the tear down/reassembly...again... :p Then I will be able to take it in for the tune and then we will go from there. Itching to get this bad boy though.

Well class was canceled today. So I decided to remove some more of my rear interior such as the panels, seat belts, etc. It was so dusty behind the panels so I decided to clean everything, which led to me detailing my interior. Looks ok. Really wanting to remove that sound deadening crap. One of these days I will pick up some dry ice and get to it, but not enough free time right now.

Yeah maybe. I am thinking about just waiting until winter break. It is only 7 weeks away. Not like I have any events to do between now and then. I plan on removing it all at once, including that stupid rubber foam mat on the fire wall and weighing it to see how much I shaved. However I plan on putting my carpet back in after it is all removed. My goal is to make the front cockpit look stockish/streetable(except for race seats eventually), but the rest of it racecar hah.

The quest to shave weight here and there continues:

I was bored and thinking of more free ways to save weight, and I remembered about whats left of the AC unit under the dash. So I decided to gut my evaporator box. That way I can still have a working heater but not the dead weight of the evaporator. There was a ton of dirt and leaves and other crap inside of it.

There was also this strange looking device behind my glove box. It was all ghetto wired in. I am not sure what it is, but it looks like some sort of old gps device. Has a little back up battery, antenna and everything.

All in all it was around 8-10lbs shaved off. Not bad for a $0 and only 20 minutes of work.

Thats including the foam/rubber matting from the fire wall? Mine is soaked in brake brake fluid so I know it has to be fairly heavy hah.

Last Night when I was taking out the evaporator I removed my glove box and was surprised by how heavy it actually was. So today I thought I would see why it is so heavy for a glove box And this is what I came across:

Huge metal plate just chillin inside. Also had some metal pieces on the sides that serve no purpose other than to add weight I guess... lol So I gutted my glove box too.

I know it isn't much, I think it was like 3 pounds at most, but it all adds up lol.

Also my passenger window doesn't work today. I can't figure out why. Also can't figure out how anything I did yesterday could have caused it to stop working. I tried plugging the evaporator back in thinking maybe the wiring is stupid, but that didn't work either...

Screech

beer budget white trash
floor insulation including the crap that is stuck to the floor boards is 50-60 lbs. least thats what it felt like in a friends R we stripped to nothing and built back up.
heaviest thing under the dash is the heater core box thing. ITS HUGE!

Yeah I have heard all that crap adds up to more than people think. Also I plan on keeping my heater because it gets cold here and I DD it. However, if it does happen to go out one day I will see no reason to purchase a new one, just yank it out and bundle up :p.

Let me know if you ever intend on Selling any interior parts, I'd be willing to make that drive to come get them.
So far nice progression, also when and if you remove that black shit in the back use Dry Ice. Dylan and Patrick can tell you all about when they did it.
