Well this is my first time on this website and im just looking for some opinions on this. I have an 01 integra type r. yes a legit type r and i wanted to get an intake for it, but here in virginia it rains a lot so i dont know about a cold air intake and i like the sounds of a short ram. The only problem is I cant find a short ram that fits a type R. Can any intake for an integra fit a type R? and what intake would be the best ?

Any intake for a gsr should fit to my knowledge, the only downside to that however is itr intakes are usually wider in diameter. So that said if you were to get something like an AEM cold air or V2 for an itr with a bypass filter, I think you should be fine in my opinion

do they make any short rams that are wide for a type r and should i just get an off brand of ebay

I don't know, AEM might have one. I believe it needs to be 3" in diameter. I personally wouldn't put anything less than name brand parts on a type r

Stock GSR Intake manifold/ throttle body sits lower. You'd be looking for one that fits a LS motor. But like previously mentioned with a larger diameter pipe.
Keep your ITR fancy like its meant to be. Look for a Comptech intake and icebox. Also known as CT engineering. You can find new ones on eBay occasionally. Or AEM is well known and quality as well.

I just looked it up. You'd be looking for a 3" intake pipe. Aem and injen sell full cold air intake systems for the 01 itr but no sri's.

Ugly intake. Filters eventually need to be replaced or cleaned, if cleaning is possible as most k&n are designed this way and a specific kit is sold for it. Going to concur with the others and reaffirm that you want a 3" diameter short ram. While these days most short rams are copies of copies and do the job, its a type r. Do it right or you dont deserve to own a type r. Cheap AEM short rams can be found and if you have the time to search/shop, u can get used ones for less. You can use one for a ls but if its anything less than 3" youre short changing yourself. Factory tube is 3". So basically.. 3" short ram for a ls or type r. If you go generic thats your call. If you do get a cheap no name brand etc at least get a good filter, ie k&n or aem dry flow.

i've seen dyno sheets. Stock intake for the type r proves to be better than a cold air. just get the j piece that extends the piping into the fender well

I ended up ording this 3" spectre intake piping off ebay for like 40 bucks . pretty good deal cause i already have a spectre filter on my stock tubing. Thank you guys for the info!

Should have done the ice box w/ velocity stack.
I have that set up on my aRRR and it's dyno proven to have gains over the stock air box.
Oh, and since it is the stock box with a "J pipe" it looks clean as hell.
But lets be honest here. the Type-R is pretty much optimized from the factory. An intake is only going to provide marginal gains.

The velocity stack comes out right behind the passenger side blinker.
