I've done pretty much everything he's done and it still continues which makes me think my rings are fried.

Well I know it's not my rings otherwise I'd 1.) Smoke like hell in high rpm or 2.) Run like shit all the time. It only does it after warm up. I'm gonna try to check my fuel pump after I put it my test pipe if the problem continues.

I'd say those plugs are too lean. But I dont think its fuel related as its all 4. It could also be a result from over advanced ignition too. Get a timing gun and make sure your dist is set to 16*. Did you ever do a compression test? They are $20 from any auto store. You said you did a "full tune up" but didn't list specifically what was done. I'm not a fan of non OEM ignition components either. Just like those cheap plugs I've seen too many problems with aftermarket distributor parts. You can get Honda cap and rotor kit for not much more than AZ charges. Order a OEM plug wire set too (NOT autozone).

How would over advanced ignition cause this all of a sudden? I changed the cap and rotor 5 months ago. Worked fine till 2 weeks ago. Should I just buy a new cap and rotor and try that before fuel pump?

EDIT:
OK, klutch said he had a similar problem and it was solved by changing the cap and rotor. I'm gonna try that Monday.

I cant solve 'why'. I can only help with the 'what'. Without knowing all the history theres no way I can say why this problem started now.

Did you take the distributor off before? Theres alot of things that you should check. compression test, fuel pressure, ignition timing, cam timing, valve lash etc.

I would personally swap the whole distributor (and plug wires) with a friend to test the whole ignition. Make sure you set the timing to 16!

I've never taken the whole dizzy off before, just the cap and rotor to replace them. I'll try a compression test, fuel pressure I know is fine, cam timing is fine unless it slips out of time in it's own (changed timing belt/water pump few months ago. Was in correct timing). I'll make sure to set the ignition timing to that. Is there a way to do it without buying a timing gun?

So, took the plug wires out one by one and guess what? Cylinder 4 is not getting any spark. Going to get a new cap and rotor right now. Tested all the wires with a volt meter set to read ohms and they're all fine.

My old car did this because of clogged injectors as well. However, lets get to the basics first before jumping to conclusions. When is the last time you did a full tune up(Wires, plugs, cap, rotor).
^^My first post in this thread...Could have saved a lot of time if it was answered accurately...

Glad you found the problem though.

Edit: Also, make sure you get a gasket for your next cap. From the looks of it, it didn't have one, or it wasn't on right.

Lol, yup you did.

What I wanna know is, how did you miss all of that blue corrosion with it being a clear cap?

I told you i changed the cap rotor spark plugs wires etc
like 4 months ago lol. At least I think I said that.

The last one had a gasket, guess it wasn't on right.

99% of that corrosion was on the bottom part where I couldn't see.

Called it!!
Yup, you did :p

Yeah, I just checked, you told me about doing it in the last 4 months. I should have told you to check those things anyway. Never assume that just because something is new(ish) that it isn't the problem. Especially if it is an autozone part.

Oh I see.

Thing is I always get duralast parts. For the cap and rotor, I cheaped out and got accel. Not doing that again. I've never had an issue with duralast.
