First to second is the easier of the four shifting points you'll actually use when you race. If you're going to drag race, you'll need to learn how to power shift - holding the throttle to the floor while shifting - which requires very quick shifts considering you'll be at redline when you yank. And the importance of shifting quick on the circuit is - 1. to get your hand back on the steering wheel ASAP 2. to get the engine to assist in braking 3. to obviously keep the revs up when you're upshiftingI shifted as fast as I could from first to sec and didn't wanna redline from sec to third. I just thought the chirp sounded good enough cuz I love that.
