ok guys i finally put a gsr front strut bar from my old gsr onto my new 95 ls. bolt holes lined up right and looked good. didnt think to take it for a test drive after until about 5 min ago and i noticed there is a slight knock come from the engine bay while going over bumpy roads. since it was dark and didnt have light source i wasnt able to really look at it..question is what could be causing this? has anyone put a gsr strut bar on an ls? im planning on looking at it in the morning when there light.

heres a photo of what i mean by strut bar

Easy test: take it off and listen for the knocking noises while driving. If so, then it isn't the bar.

i seriously doubt it would be the strut bar though..

Check for loose bolts. Also look for contact marks. With additional stiffening i wonder if you have poor motor mounts and its more noticeable now.

Pretty sure Klutch is the winner. Obviously it doesn't come with instructions but I set mine on there both ways and this made much more sense to me. It would seem that how you have it is very close to the intake and the bouncing around that the engine normally does is causing that. However given the status of the engine bay it might be a good idea to check your motor mounts anyways :)

Here is mine installed, absolutely no noises or "bumping" after install:
