I honestly would go with a zc swap. Its the same thing as the stock d16 but high compression and a whole hell of a lot more mods. My buddy has a zc swap in his hatch and pushing about 145 wbhp
ok don't get mad at me but what car would I find a zc in?
I learn as i go heh

I know you seen the other post I put with the brackets to bolt a b series into a 1st gen.. Since you work with fabricators, I would print that pdf out and bring it to them if you do this. Cheap though? not so much.. but not too expensive to make you never want to do it. I dont know how much you can find a good b18 for now but I have seen a couple rebuilt go for about 350-450.

As for transmission wise, Im not sure what all will bolt to a b18 but ive been told that the b16 tranny is the best to use cause its cheap, very reliable, can handle the power no problem, and has higher torqued gears then the stock b18 tranny has.. but dont quote me on any of that. Havent really dug my head into transmissions too much

No prob.. were all still learning, nothing wrong with questions. a zc is just the civic version of a d16 really. They can ONLY be found in jdm though. Meaning you will have to find an imported civic between 86-89 i believe.

I hear ya man. Same here. But this is the wrong car to do an engine swap on unless you have to. I didnt know that when I got mine either. Lol. But believe me, when you pull up with some of you honda buddy's in the holy grail of old ricers, mint condition, you will love the looks you get. Anyone that knows honda will appreciate a 1st gen teg
