Stretching tires is possibly one of the dumbest things that people do to cars. It's dangerous.
If I need to explain why or re-emphasize on this at all, you should probably just buy a Volkswagen.

:roll: i'm gonna stop you right there. there's nothing dangerous about stretching tires A LITTLE BIT (like he said) when it can barely seat and needs stupid amounts of pressure to keep it installed, that would be less safe, but plenty of people do it with no issues, you just have to pay attention to your shit.

that being said, if a place like discount will install it, you're probably not gonna have any issues.

I understand the whole stretching the tire issue.
I know you can stretch them a bit but not too much and I completely agree that discount tire place that has no idea what they're doing shouldnt even be touching the car anyway.
But yes too much is dangerous

Any way we slice the cake, stretching tires compromises the tire's ability to seat on the rim. A bunch of my buddies have done it and I laugh every time I see it. Yes, it's not as dangerous if you only stretch it a little, but you're still compromising. Not only that, but you're losing flex on the sidewall of the tire, which to most people is a component of the suspension.

I know it's nothing to be screaming bloody murder over, but still - it's the fact that people do shiet like this without knowing that get me riled up.
