I have a 99 Acura Integra LS with the B18B1 and i was just wondering if anybody has good ideas for cheap power gains but not cheap as in piece of $hit. I have already done some things as in short ram intake with a huge spectra cone filter, 4-1 headers(changing back to 4-2-1 due to loss of acceleration), full 2 1/4 exhaust, and a slight weight reduction. I'v came to a dead end cuz the wallet is gettin thin so if you have good ideas I would appreciate the info!:)

Now is when it starts gettin spendy. Get a set of cams... but then u need to upgrade the valve train for most cams. Plus gears and a tune..... best advice is just be patient and save up til you can get what u want.....

On the cheap end, there isnt much you can do that you havent sort of done and what you can do usually doesnt net you much.

Take everything out of your car that you don't need to drive it. Sell your SRI and get a CAI. Don't drive with the A/C on, better yet just take it all out (also free) And learn how to drive your car very well. With a B1 there is not much power to be gained for cheap, forced induction is the way to get the most power from this engine for the cost.

Samurai -- the reason the 4-1 headers make less acceleration is because they are for more top end/redline power gains unlike the 4-2-1 headers which increase low end torque. Also i'v been thinking about port n polishing the throttle body, intake manifold, and some ports on the head but i almost just want to save up like dlo253 says and invest in a vtec head and build it up. But anyways back to the port n polish idea, anybody have a good est of power i would gain from the port n polishing???

Well, we don't actually make power on the bottom end, so I run high revs when I need power. It's called downshifting :thumbs up

Well yeah! i know that much! lol but i did notice a loss of torque when i changed the headers to 4-1 kinda depressing but you live and learn right? good thing i kept the old ones now i just have to put them on and hollow out the cc then most of the basics of air flow are done

Its a trade off. You either go for low/midrange power or top end power on your header choice. You made your choice. As for how much power you'll gain from the port n polish, not a lot. Those are more like finishing touchs when your mods have kinda seen the end of changes.
